White Agency launch new website for Wyke Sixth Form College
White Agency has successfully launched a brand new website for Wyke Sixth Form College which serves pupils from the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area. Designed to coincide with the launch of their new brand image and opening of new campus buildings, the site has been developed to promote all aspects of the college, with the aim of increasing online applications and encouraging users to attend open days.
The site contains lots of useful information including course information, open day events, campus news and financial support which is aimed at potential new students, existing students, parents and those with a general interest in the college.
Careful consideration has been given to the course information due to the numerous courses and different levels available. To make the course selection easier the website has been designed with a shopping basket feature to allow students to select the courses they are interested in and apply online. As part of the development of the site a feed has been taken from the College course database, which is located at the college, and fed directly into the website therefore any updates made to the database are fed to the website which means that staff do not have to update course information in two places.
The site was also required to feature and integrate with Wyke’s social networking Twitter account which the college uses to communicate with students on a regular basis.
Another important requirement of the website was an easy to use content management system that would allow staff to update and maintain content quickly and easily themselves. The WhiteAgency’s bespoke and highly flexible content management system was ideal for this as staff could update and expand content without having to contact the Agency.
The design of the website has been kept clean and the navigation easy to use so that it complies with all the latest Disability Discrimination laws.
Within the first six weeks the new website’s popularity has already exceeded all expectations with over 7,000 unique visitors being reported and a 600% increase in online applications being received.
